The Women & Fashion FilmFest brings together members of the fashion, entertainment, and media industries. We’re not just a film festival, but also a conference to foster discussion on issues affecting women. We also seek to examine industry issues, to nurture social responsibility, to support the creative development of women and youth through our screenings and programs, and to honor leaders in these fields for outstanding artistic, societal and communal contributions.
Education and outreach also form a critical focus. In conjunction with faculty at The Fashion Institute of Technology, students are developing fashion related short films as part of a course module. Students from FIT and other academic institutions students will be invited to submit their films to the festival, and a selection of these films will be screened. To encourage discussion beyond the festival itself, we will also present filmed panels online to reach a global audience.
The Women & Fashion FilmFest aims to serve as an ongoing platform that unites members of the fashion, entertainment and media industries through special film screenings, discussions, and networking events. These aspects make the Women & Fashion FilmFest a unique and innovative platform in one of the world’s greatest fashion, entertainment and media capitals.
